How It Began
When the Palmer kids were, well, kids, Big Marvin set about looking for a place to get away with the family on the weekends. We visited Horse Shoe Lake, Pickwick Lake, and Heber Springs. Heber Springs, we thought, was really beautiful, but it was much too far away. Horse Shoe was very close and convenient, but it was a little too congested with people for us and the water was a little too muddy for our taste. Pickwick seemed like the perfect fit. Just two hours from our home in Memphis, beautiful, and lots of space. Back then, there weren't quite so many people as there are today, but we still love it.
My Last Project
I can't count the number of times Dad has told us 'this is my last project' followed by his plans for another amazing addition to the lake house. Things at Palm Beach have changed a lot over the years. Look for pictures to be added to the picture galleries showing the changes that Dad has made.
